Hi all, thanks for visiting my blog! I’m “The Chick”-followerof Christ, home-educator, semi-crunchy, stay-at-home-mom to 4.
I also am about 200 pounds overweight. This blog serves as a way to chronicle my journey on the path to health and fitness. I promise to always be real and honest, to celebrate success and share disappointments and struggles.
What you can expect to find here will be everything from fitness tips, progress updates, recipes, to my real-life experiences trying to lose this weight. I hope to inspire, encourage, and hold you accountable-as I know I will receive the same from you.

Thanks for visiting Beth!
I’m also new to your blog (thanks moneysavingmom) and am on a weight loss journey of my own. I know it takes courage and vulnerability to put it all out there and I appreciate that you’re sharing your thoughts/motivations/progress with random strangers! Your’e gonna have to tell me what “semi-crunchy” means though… 🙂
Aw, thanks for stopping by the blog Marie! “Crunchy” is a term that refers to people who are kinda hippie-ish in their behavior/philosophy/outlook on life. There are certain things that tend to stereo-type “crunchy” people-exclusive breastfeeding, cloth diapering, co-sleeping, homeschooling, living off the land, natural living, eating whole/raw foods, wearing birkenstocks ;). The term is derived from “crunchy granola”-as in, that’s what hippies eat lol. Crunchy-types tend to be more left-leaning politically (which I am not) and kind of “New Age” in their thinking (which I am not) but I agree with other things-taking care of the environment, green/natural living etc… so I always refer to myself as “semi-crunchy” lol.
Good luck on your journey!
It’s never easy to do what you are trying to do. I am a Lifetime Member of Weight Watchers below goal and a former leader for WW. I lost 50 pounds over 20 years ago and I still work every day to keep it off. During that time I would go through periods when I was not good and I gained. Just keep trying to do your best. Don’t give up on yourself. If you have a less than terrific week, realize that it’s over, you can’t change it and get on to the new week. If I can be of any help, feel free to contact me. You should get my e-mail from my comment and feel free to contact me privately. I would love to help however I can. Best of Luck to you in this journey!!
Thank you-I love the name of your blog, btw!
